Project 2 - Nitrous Mitigation

Project 2 was voted for at the 2022 Green Day and focussed on quantifying the region's mitrous oxide usage and, more importantly, waste. Four out of five trusts participated in the Autumn of 2022 (Milton Keynes had independently quantified their nitrous wastage and have made steps to mitigate this).

Some key findings are shown below, as well as the poster, which was presented centrally at the OxDAT Macintosh Day.

Locally, each trust is in the process of developing action plans for ongoing nitrous mitigation and will present their own findings of this project.

96% of nitrous oxide is wasted per week (89%-99.5%)

CO2  equivalent of wasted nitrous oxide is 86,648kg

£104,889
