Welcome to the homepage for the Research and Audit Partnership for the Thames valley and Oxford Region.
What is RAPTOR?
RAPTOR is the anaesthetic trainee research network (TRN) for the Thames Valley deanery and part of the RAFT national network.
We are a group of anaesthetic and/or intensive care medicine trainees from Thames Valley who promote trainee involvement in research, audit and quality improvement

Our key ethos are to:
Facilitate high-quality trainee-led audit, quality improvement and research projects in anaesthesia, peri-operative medicine, pain and critical care, across the Thames Valley.
Enable collaboration between trainees across the region to enable high-quality multicentre projects and to attract national funding for this work.
Collaborate with local networks already in action (e.g Green Theatres Forum).
Facilitate involvement in national projects through the RAFT network.
To help trainees meet the requirements of the academic, research and quality improvement sections of the RCoA and FICM curriculums by:
Assisting in education regarding basic research methods and facilitate involvement in research (e.g. NIHR Associate PI training schemes, Good Clinical Practice training).
Ensuring that projects meet requirements of Good Clinical Practice in relation to design, methodology, data collection and dissemination of results.
Signposting relevant educational resources, opportunities and points of contact for those wanting to pursue formal academic training.
To promote Thames Valley as a region for high quality, collaborative, trainee led research.
Ensure all of those with any involvement in a project are reflected as authors when projects are presented/published (see separate Publication / Authorship Policy).
Be an open and approachable network without barriers to access.
